PLUTA serving bowl
Pluta is a collection of bowls which are hand crafted with a pure white porcelain and carefully carved with a unique pattern. The incredibly smooth and silky texture of the porcelain accentuates the cutout design which moves organically along the side of the bowl.
This collection was inspired by a memory of leaves floating on the surface of a river stream and travelling with it. The effortless movement of the leaves that seem to dance in the water made me think of the beauty of letting go, being in the moment and letting it guide us somewhere unexpected and unplanned.
I wanted this design to look elegant and nearly effortless in order to give that sense of lightness and free movement.
The name Pluta comes from the verb ‘plutati’ in my native Croatian language which means to float. These bowls can be used purely as decorative pieces however I prefer to fill them with some goodies like sweets of fruit depending on their size.
The Pluta bowls are part of the Halo collection which includes hand crafted pieces made out of porcelain, fired at 1200 degrees Celsius and therefore extremely durable, resistant to heat and dish washer safe.
