This candle holder was one of the first pieces I’ve ever created for Totus. It has been inspired by my long battle with mental health and my journey to recovery. It’s meant to symbolize the light shining through the darkness as the glimmer of hope that keeps us all going in hard times. It’s name, Nyx, comes from the Greek goddess of the night.
The many carefully and patiently hand crafted holes in this candle holder create a beautiful net of shadows and light over the walls. For someone who used to fear darkness this piece is a beautiful reminder that shadows are just beautiful patterns created by light.
This unique candle holder has been hand built with a black stoneware clay and baked at 1240 degrees Celsius which makes it extremely strong and resistant to heat. It is hanged on a metal chain however if preferred the chain can be removed and the candle holder can be used on a flat surface illuminating it with its beautiful pattern of shadows.
Dimensions :
approx. 13 cm wide x 9.5 cm tall. The chain is 17 cm long. (5.1 inches tall x 3.7 inches tall with 6.7 inch long chain).
Since all of my pieces are handmade no two items will ever be the same. I hope you will appreciate the uniqueness of each piece.
