KOEMI | Porcelain sugar bowl with spoon

  • Koemi is a collection of tableware inspired by both my love for Japanese minimalist aesthetics and Japanese food. I wanted to a collection which would celebrate the food that brings me so much joy.

Koemi is a collection characterised by clean lines, smooth textures and a clear contrast between the clay body and the abstract design. I enjoyed playing with the contrast between white and black porcelain and creating absolutely one of a kind patterns. I love knowing that a pattern is so unique that it can't be reproduced and that each piece of the collection has its own character.

Koemi appropriately means "a little smile" in Japanese. I often smile when I eat; it's a pleasure, a privilege and an absolute gift.

This elegant unique sugar bowl has been hand built with a smooth white porcelain body. The black abstract patterns was created with black porcelain whose translucency allows for the pattern to have that silky and delicate effect. The little spoon was hand carved with black porcelain.

    Dimensions:

    approx. 9 cm x 7.5 cm x 4.5 cm deep (3.5 in x 3 in. 1.8 in)

The Koemi collection has been glazed with a transparent matt glaze and therefore it's food and dishwasher safe.

Since all of my pieces are handmade no two items will ever be the same. I hope you will appreciate the uniqueness of each piece.
