Black ceramic bowl with abstract pattern
KOEMI | Dipping / serving bowl
Koemi is a collection of tableware inspired by both my love for Japanese minimalist aesthetics and Japanese food. Being a sushi enthusiast I often dreamed of creating my own dishes which would celebrate the food that brings me so much joy.
Koemi is a collection characterised by clean lines, smooth textures and a clear contrast between the clay body and the abstract design. I enjoyed playing with the contrast between white and black porcelain and creating absolutely one of a kind patterns. I love knowing that a pattern is so unique that it can't be reproduced and that each piece of the collection has its own character.
Koemi appropriately means "a little smile" in Japanese. I often smile when I eat; it's a pleasure, a privilege and an absolute gift.
This one of a kind dipping / serving bowl has been hand built with a smooth black ceramic body. The black abstract pattern was created with white porcelain whose translucency allows for the pattern to have that silky and delicate effect.
Dimensions:
approx 13 cm diameter (approx 4.7 in)
The Koemi collection has been glazed with a transparent matt glaze and therefore is food and dishwasher safe.
Since all of my pieces are handmade no two items will ever be the same. I hope you will appreciate the uniqueness of each piece.
