EOS | Textured ceramic tray
The Eos trays have been hand crafted and they present an organic pattern of carefully hand carved openings. The lacey pattern gives a perception of fragility, which is contrasted by the actual texture and toughness of the stoneware clay. The black colour of the raw clay gives a strong sense of earthiness while the carved out texture adds a light and airy aspect to the trays.
These one of a kind trays combine minimalist shapes with a modern and contemporary texture. They can be used as serving dishes for dry baked good or else purely decoratively as centerpieces.
These decorative trays were names Eos, by the goddess of dawn. They are part of the Nebo collection.
“Nebo” in my native Croatian language means “sky” and it is a collection of carved out pieces which balance the contrast of light and shadows, the presence or absence of something. Just as the rest of my work the Nebo collection was inspired by my journey of recovery from a life long battle with mental health caused by a severe childhood trauma. I use my journey as inspiration and I don’t hide it. I believe awareness is crucial and I do my best to do my part.
The Nebo collection symbolizes the light that always finds a way to shine through, no matter how dark it is.
The Nebo collection is hand built in black stoneware clay and baked on 1240 degrees Celsius and therefore extremely strong, resistant and dishwasher safe.
